26, Queensland Road,
Dear Former Pupils and Members of Staff,
Already it is time to think about sending Christmas Greetings to you all. There is so much strife, man's inhumanity to man, all over the world that I think the prayer in all our hearts is for peace in our lives and in the whole world. We wish you a happy celebration of the birth of Our Saviour, Jesus Christ and pray for the help and strength needed in our lives in 2014.
Once again I am trying to keep in touch with all our members via the newsletter, there has still been no response to the request for someone to take over the job of Editor of the 2 newsletters a year. Please, if you feel that you could help in this way get in touch, bring a younger, more vigorous aspect to the Association !
We welcome Mrs Sarah Breeze, the new Headteacher at St Thomas Garnet School, and wish her a happy
and successful time with the school.
I have had the pleasure of meeting Mrs Breeze, she is very supportive of the Association, and has assured us
that we are still able to hold our Reunions in the School Hall on the 1st Sunday in July. In 2014 that will be
6th July. In this newsletter you will be able to read about the 2013 Reunion and the names of those who
attended, if they signed the Visitors' Book.
Make a note of the Reunion Date -
6™ JULY 2014, 2.30 P.M. ONWARDS, IN THE HALL AT ST THOMAS GARNET SCHOOL,
PARK WOOD ROAD.
It is an informal occasion with plenty of time to chat to friends and other Past Pupils.
Tea, Coffee, fruit squash and refreshments are available. Use it as a venue to meet up with old friends.
I thank the Committee for their continued support and all the work they do for the Association.
We have two meetings a year and the Reunion to organise and run. More details on further pages but we need more committee members, please see if you can give some of your time to helping the Past Pupils Association. Other schools past pupils associations are dying out for lack of support from younger members, when older people have to retire because of ill health or age, please don't let that happen to ours.
Please keep us supplied with news, this time I have some which people at the Reunion wrote for us.
Our President JEAN WALSH ( HUGHES) sends her greetings to you all. She thinks of us all often. Over the years she remembers fellow pupils, students, whom she taught, and so many friends, who all hold her in great esteem and affection. Keep well, Jean.
We wish you every Blessing at Christmas time and Good Health and Happiness for the New Year, 2014.
With best wishes,
MARY BROOKS (BROWNING) - Chair & Editor.

We had a lovely, sunny day, which I feel partly contributed to the comparatively few people who attended. Of course Andy Murray in the finals at Wimbledon was a great attraction, too ! We have heard that in 2015 Wimbledon will be starting a week later, because of the closeness to the French Open and Queens tournaments, so the Men's Finals should be a week later.
From whichever direction they came people commented on the volume of traffic on the roads.
JENNIFER DANVERS (SHAW) arrived after 5 p.m. just as we were packing up! She had left London at noon! We made her some tea, to cheer her up in her disappointment. We appreciate her coming from London, every year faithfully. JENNIFER was going to
have a look at the sea and visit her mother's grave before her return journey.
