26, Queensland Road,
It is hard to believe that it is now nearly the end of October and time to send Christmas and New
Year greetings to all our members.
We wish you a Peaceful and Blessed Christmastide and every blessing in the coming year 2011.
In many ways it has been a good year for the Association. The Reunion in July was a great success, all those present seemed to be enjoying themselves, 90 people signed the Visitors' Book, there were several present who don't usually attend, they were most welcome.
The tour of the former Convent was greatly appreciated. Eleven new members joined the Association, we hope that they will find it rewarding to receive their newsletters twice a year, keeping them in touch with our activities.
Hopefully some of them might contribute some news for us to share! We would be very interested to receive feedback about your visit to the old school and the memories it inspired. There is more about the Association and the Reunion later in the newsletter.
It makes such a difference that, in the absence of our Senior School, we are able to return to St. Thomas Garnet's School, our former Junior School, St. Joseph's, with all its associated memories. We are very grateful to JULIE-ANNE CUTLER ( MATTHEWS), the Head Teacher, for allowing us to use the Hall for our meetings.
Thank you to those who have contributed items for us to print, please keep them coming. Our readers love to see names of old friends; even if they are not actual contemporaries there are often links. We do our best to find news for those who ask but, obviously we do not have contacts for everyone.
My thanks to the Committee members, whose dedication permits us to carry on the Association and whose hard work made the reunion such a success. We could do with more committee members, particularly some of a younger age group, to relieve some of the pressure from those of us in our late 70s, turning 80.
We thank ROSANNA FOX (BREDDA) for printing the Newsletter for us; she is always so cheerful and willing. We are also grateful to JULIE- ANNE for allowing this to be done at the school.
We wish peace in the lives and hearts of you and those dear to you in the coming year.
With best wishes,
MARY BROOKS (BROWNING) - Chair & Editor.
