CHRISTMAS 2009

Dear Friends,

I hope that the current and threatened postal strikes will allow this to reach you in time to bring our very best wishes for a Peaceful and Blessed Christmastide. In all parts of the world the healing and peace of Our Lord Jesus Christ are so desperately needed; as we celebrate His Birth we pray that Love of Our Lord and His teachings may come to the aid of all in need of help.

July 2010 will mark thirty years since the closure of the Convent in Boscombe, we hope that we will be able to organise a special Reunion on July 4th, details will be in the May edition of the Newsletter.

This year's Reunion was very enjoyable and successful. Warm applause greeted our President JEAN WALSH (HUGHES) on her arrival. Thanks to the hard work of your committee, who endeavour to ensure that all your needs are met, all went smoothly. Five new members joined the Association there, and we also have another new member. Thanks to the Head Teacher, JULIE -ANNE CUTLER (MATTHEWS), we were able to meet in the familiar surroundings of the Convent, in the Hall of St. Thomas Garnet's School.

We hope that you will enjoy reading the contents of this newsletter, remember our source of news is you, if you do not supply it we have nothing to print. If you do not see anything about your age group why not send in your news and that of old friends with whom you are in touch, it is surprising how often this starts the ball rolling and more contacts are made, more interest engendered.

The website is always a good means of bringing former pupils to the knowledge of the Association. It is your Association and your input is important to us.

We would be glad of more members to serve on the Committee. We hope to change the meetings from evening to a Friday afternoon, they are twice a year in October and March.

We are grateful to ROSANNA FOX (BREDDA) Secretary at St. Thomas Garnet's School, who prints the newsletter so expertly and cheerfully for us, Thank you too, JULIE - ANNE for your co-operation.

We wish peace in the lives and hearts of you and those dear to you, during the coming year 2010.

With best wishes,

MARY BROOKS (BROWNING) - Chair & Editor.
